Hello, I'm Alhena Tajuddin! I am a Junior at Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas. I enjoy writing, listening to 80s music, making coffee, and cooking. I grew up in the Chicagoland area (Go Cubs Go!) and have been living in Frisco for a little over a year. I am interested in the field of Civil Law because the way people interact and solve problems has always been something I want to explore further. I am a member of the Independent Study and Mentorship Program in my school district, through which I am conducting research into the field of Civil Law and working towards building a professional skillset. In my free time, I manage the press for my school's Youth and Government team as the elected Press Secretary. I am also a member of my district's Mock Trial team.
In partaking in ISM, my mission is to further my knowledge and skills in connection building and career advancement in the legal profession. By collaborating with a mentor in the legal field and learning from their lived experience, I intend to learn about the necessary skills and capabilities to succeed in that field. During this year, I will utilize my persistence, willingness to take criticism, and willingness to learn to expand my skill set and make myself a more ideal candidate to be a lawyer in the future.
Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) is an exciting, rigorous elective offered at Frisco ISD high schools, designed for high-achieving juniors or seniors.
Students interested in taking ISM must complete the application and interview process to be considered for the course. Once selected, students conduct research and interviews throughout the year on their chosen topic of study in order to select a mentor and gain real-world experience.
